FAQs

  • LegalTech is the term we use to describe technologies that aim to support, supplement or replace traditional methods for delivering legal services, or that improve the way the justice system operates.

  • Absolutely! LegalTech spans many business areas and sectors, and the Lab is looking for innovative research ideas from a wide variety of sources. For example, the Lab can work with third sector organisations to develop new technologies to support access to justice initiatives.

  • Although the Lab looks to ensure that our work can benefit Wales, that doesn't mean we can't partner with companies from outside of Wales. There is a lot of work to be done in the LegalTech world that will benefit organisations across the UK (and the Globe)!

  • LegalTech spans a broad area, so it's understandable if you aren't sure whether your idea falls under this research umbrella! We have some example areas of LegalTech research on our website, but if you're unsure, we are always happy to talk with you and figure out whether your ideas will benefit from our LegalTech expertise.
